Itty Bitty Knitting

One of my more exciting knitting moments involved knitting a thong in a bar in 20 minutes for $20 and a round of drinks. My newest finished knitting project doesn't have that same guerilla crafting spirit but I have returned to the idea of making knitted underwear. Recently at least four knitting books dedicated to lacy, saucy underthings have been published. This particular pattern, free from interweave.com, has a frilly girly look without being fussy. Finally something I knit that I can wear in the summer.

Off the Presses

Yesterday I realized that if you just walk the same path backwards sometimes you stumble upon the most amazing views. Come over the top of a hill and you can see forever.

Finished Harry Potter. It was okay. I'm not going into too much detail so no one will leave me death threats or anything. The fall Interweave Knits is out and is better than the last two issues since they changed the format. There are some pretty interesting (in a good way) patterns in there. I think I might have found my cardi pattern for the chocolate alpaca (p. 40). Vogue Knitting has put out their 25th Anniversary Issue and OMG even if you don't normally buy it for patterns you ought to buy it for a laugh. There are some pretty wild things in it including an 80s throwback oversized sweater that's big enough to hold a pit crew. There are also some of their best old designs reworked in new colorways that are pretty great and all those waifish possessed looking models which VK seems to love. More later pals.
