Today marks the beginning of the Year of the Rat in the lunar calendar. Had I been at the top of my game I would have unveiled a rat felty today. I myself am a proud little rooster by the Chinese zodiac. My dear mum is a rat so perhaps this will be an auspicious year for her. If you are in ABQ there is a celebration on Saturday at the Chinese Cultural Center at 1 p.m. There's supposed to be a big dancing dragon!
