I had intended to finish up a pair of socks for my mom's birthday back in March but they are still in the sock bag. So I have been pulling them out a lot the past couple of days thinking I would just plow through the last couple of inches of ribbing at the top and hit the foot and then I could sail through the second sock and be done with them. Well I pulled out the first one to see how far I had to go this morning and guess what I discovered? I have a good six inches of ribbing that does not match the ribbing of sock #1. DAMMIT!! Now knitters out there you gotta give me some support here. I'm not just some scatterbrained twit who shouldn't be trusted with a set of sock needles, right? Mom has been griping about not getting these socks on time for months now and now I am basically back to one sock. That is one lesson I learned. Don't tell someone that you are knitting them a present until said present is done. Not almost done or done but not blocked, sewn, etc. Done as in all done in a box with a bow on it. So the sock will get ripped out and redone eventually.
